Your journey has molded you for greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don’t think that you’ve lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.

It has been 2-3 weeks since the celebration of my birth and after I thought the party dust had settle I came home after work to find this waiting for me…

I am happy with the simple things in life but when it is unexpected simplicity… I am overwhelmed with unexplained feelings. Since the start of the year my whole world has changed and the sender of this card has played a big part in this transition.

This was a very special delivery indeed!

Venti OCHO OCHOOO!!!

So another year has been added to my life. This time round seemed a little different to previous years. Not too sure why but maybe because circumstances at present are more real and the dirty thirty is drawing ever so close. Don’t get me wrong though as I’m talking about this change in a good sense.

This years greetings were so overwhelming. Not only did I receive wishes from here and there in all forms of communication but also from across the seas which really made my day extra special!

Plans are still being followed through along with a few other big decisions being added on top of that. I’m hard on the grind like no other at the moment and a lot of my closest have noticed my disappearance.

I’m keeping the new added plans for myself but let’s just say at this present moment I am pretty happy and it can only get better from here ;D

If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.

My God-daughter, Audrey, was finally able to fit into the Sneakers which I had bought her for Christmas in 2011. It only took four months until she could grow into these fly ass kicks. Shes growing at a rapid rate and it’ll only be a matter of time until her parents see her off on her first day of school. Shes such a cute kid with the sweetest smile that can make you forget about the complications of adult obligations.

I don’t know about Audrey’s dad but I’m excited for the time when a boy comes round to pick her up on her first date. I’ll be right there by her daddy’s side re-enacting the scene from ‘Baby boys 2’ when Marcus and Mike scare off reggie (Megan’s date).

In a time where sensations are bred overnight, where fame is bestowed upon anyone with an unrelenting online presence and accomplishments are measured by Youtube views and ReTweets, let’s not forget that true success can only be assessed through the perspective of time.  Hype and hysteria are fleeting - by their very definitions, manufactured by marketing and packaging.  Impact and influence, on the other hand, are substantiated by longevity, immutability, and persistence.

Life is a marathon.  The fast to rise are fast to demise.  But if you’re in this game to make a difference, you think 10 steps ahead, 10 years ahead, and you build your foundation accordingly.  Be wary of the fast track because you’ll finish the race quicker.  Take the long road, enjoy the scenery, and if all goes well, the ride will never end.

I can never prove that destiny exists but the thought of it makes me euphoric.

bomperts:

I believe in destiny. I believe that everything happens for a reason…that our existence is part of a great interwoven tale of the universe. That people are destined to meet, that we have a mission to do, that everything will fall to its proper places in due time.

Destiny is an uncertain force that binds us…that drives us to the very end. It makes us tick. We may not know it but chances are we are already living it.

And I believe that we can either live our destiny or FIGHT it. It’s our choice that makes the difference. But whether we live or fight our destiny, it could be that it is as it should be.

That if we live our destiny, then go live it.

That if we fight our destiny, go fight it. If you changed your destiny, then that could be your destiny…changing your destiny. After all, NOBODY has the right to tell you that you are destined to be this and that or do this and that.

Whatever we think that is our destiny, may not be our destiny.

Because knowing what is our destiny is as nonsense as knowing our future. Knowing our future steals us the excitement to live.

“Every grain of rice in your bowl is won by the sweat of the brow.” - Confucius

During my quick trip overseas I was able to revisit my fathers provincial area for a mass family gathering. Unlike the city this place had some fresh air. Luckily I was able to take a few snaps of the country side as we passed a lot of rice fields en route to our destination.

One lunch time an uncle decided to say a few words to the lil nugget as he finished his food but leaving a nice little chunk of rice. Basically the bottom line of his message was that each grain came from countless hours of labour and hardship so don’t waste it.

Like I had stated before this trip was quite humbling and I saw first hand a few things that I had taken for granted. Apart from sharing a lot of happy memories with my extended family and new relationships, I took away from this trip an experience that will not be forgotten.
